Happy New Year
Like most, my New Year's Eve 2014 was spent reflecting on the year that had past. I kept asking myself "Where did it go?" If everything does indeed happen for a reason, I was hoping that reason would reveal itself before the ball dropped at midnight, so I could start 2015 fresh, knowing how to rectify my shortcomings and become my best self yet.... IT DID NOT.
It's now 2015, the year of the sheep (and the goat and the ram, apparently), and I have just one day at a time as I always have. Moving forward I realize that there should be a difference between a New Year's Resolution and goals for the new year. A resolution is a formal expression of intention, where as a goal is a marker and/or an end-point.
This year, I intend to take responsibility for my happiness. It's all up to me! My clarity came from 3 places right at the year's end.
- The cover of the notebook I've chosen to be my 2015 day planner.
- My favorite lyric from Jimi Hendrix' 1967 album, Are You Experienced
- A quote from Abraham Linlcoln, with whom I've found a personal connection ever since my first production on HAIR in 2012.
